Thailand Company Registration – What is it?

Many people wonder what the rules and requirements are when it comes to Thailand company registration.  They wonder if it is like what they are used to in their home country in terms of registering and setting up a business and registering it.  Many people often make this mistake in thinking that business rules and regulations that apply to one side of the world works just as great on the other side of the world too and whist some of the rules may be the same the process may be a little bit different.

That is why, for example, when it comes to Thailand company registration, it pays to do a little research and see if the company type you are known for or are looking to register as, is available and, if so, has the same requirements or actions required to make sure that the company is correctly registered of that type.  Company type is important in the grand scheme of Thailand company registration as certain company types can only conduct business in a certain way or have business in certain fields or markets only.

It may also be the case that the company type you are registered with already is not available or does not work in the same way.    The majority of companies that are submitted for Thailand company registration do so as public limited companies which is not actually the same as a public company in the West and this is where it is great advice to make sure all the requirements asked for are checked and double-checked (translated if necessary) to ensure that both parties involved in Thailand company registration are on the same page so to speak and this little extra effort will definitely avoid a lot of headaches later, especially when it comes to acquiring work permits and such for all the foreign staff.

Making sure your foreign staff are degree educated is also a big part of Thailand company registration.  Without a work permit they are legally not allowed to work in Thailand in any way.  The only way to get a work permit is to have a bona fide and approved and accredited university degree.  The belief is that obviously those with degrees are smarter and can contribute more than those who are not  and so this is quite a steep requirement to meet when it comes to Thailand company registration due to the fact that a lot of Western countries make having a degree something that involves a lot of work and is expensive and many people choose to bypass it.  Either way, having fully qualified staff, both Thai and foreign, is required for successful Thai company registration so it may be worthwhile looking for training for your staff if you are seriously considering Thailand company registration and wish to do it the correct way and meet all the requirements.  This also has the added benefit of giving your company the edge in terms of degree qualified staff as opposed to those who are not degree or university educated.
