Review of Some of The Cruise Lines Bound for Alaska

       January 1, 0000    1489

There are more than 5 shipping companies with scheduled trips going to Alaska. Each vessel carries more than a thousand people on board with many fine amenities.

Take for example the Royal Caribbean Line that has the vessel Radiance deployed in the Pacific Ocean. The service is excellent, the food is superb and the facilities on board such as the casino, the bar and the disco are just great.

Travelers who choose to get in this voyage will be making stopovers in ports both in Canada and Alaska. These include Juneau, Hubbard Glaciers, Ketchikan and Skagway. The person will just have to put up with the crowd given there are 2499 other passengers who will be going to Alaska and back throughout the entire voyage.

The Princess Cruise Lines also has large vessels which are at par with the Royal Caribbean. It is no wonder that travel agencies will recommend this shipping company or the other to those who want to go on a week long romantic cruise.

Most of the furniture used on board is made of dark wood mahogany. This is because during the off-season, these vessels are redeployed back to the Atlantic to cater to tourists going either to the Bahamas or the Caribbean.

The Carnival and the Celebrity which comes in number three and four are also worth trying if there are no more slots available on the first two. The price is a bit cheaper and each cabin room comes with a balcony providing an exciting view of the glaciers which the ship will be sailing through.

Aside from the cruiser’s, there are two other shipping lines that people can check out. These are the Clipper, the American Safari and Cruise West. It carries fewer passengers but the service is still great for those who will be spending a few days at sea.

The shipping companies mentioned have been sailing to Alaska and back for the past 10 years. Only the most experienced crew are sent in to handle the ship and make it a pleasant experience for those who decided to join the trip.

Each of the vessels going to Alaska is equipped with a gym, a bar, disco, casino, movie halls and a theater. This will keep the passengers entertained until it is time to reach port so that the people can disembark and travel inland to see the sights.

Customers can book for the trip by phone or online but those who don’t have enough time can course this through a travel agent who will be handling the account.

Some of the shipping lines come out with promos. Those that don’t offer also offer discounts but the travelers has to book for this a few months in advance since the slot fills up very quickly. The person can also save some money if the reservation is made for a party of 10 or more people.

The cruise liners bound for Alaska will leave from either Los Angeles or San Francisco. Travelers coming from out of state will have to make travel arrangements as well as transfers from the airport to the pier.

The best time to enjoy an Alaskan cruise is between May until September. It will be crowded but at least the weather is ideal so it will not be too cold for first time visitors.
