Pull ups

While watching television the viewer is in a very light and relaxed mood. He is totally removed from the situation around him and absolutely engrossed with the scenes on the television. During this time if he works out some pull-ups then it would be very useful for him. Consequently, he would be attaining dual benefit of entertainment and exercise within the same time span.

The mode of Pull ups

The Proper Pull-up with the regular grip involves grabbing the pull-up bar with the hands placed at a distance of shoulder width and the palms facing away from body. Then he has to pull the body in the upward direction till the chin is over the bar. Moving slowly in the hanging position should complete the exercise. If this sort of pull-ups can’t be done, then the person out to try negative pull-ups. Negatives are half pull-ups. In these the exerciser has to stand over something and get the chin over the bar. Then he must lower himself to the lowest position and allow the arms hang by gripping the bar totally stretched. Then he should stay in this position for 5 seconds. This action will make the arms conversant with supporting the weight. When the exerciser is a novice, he must begin with assisted pull-ups. Here a bar that is 3 or 4 feet from the ground must be chosen. He must sit under the bar and grasp it with the regular grip. The back and hips ought to be straight and knees should be bended. Then he must pull himself in such a way that the chest touches the bar. This is an ideal way to start off, if he cannot do the regular pull-ups.

Tips regarding Pull-ups

The Pull-up is obviously one of the most challenging exercises. When the person is 10 or 20 pounds overweight it easily affects the capacity to do pull-ups. Experimentation has proved that with only a few months of training, exercisers can elevate themselves from 0 to 10 pull-ups. A wide grip concentrates on the lateral muscles and a narrow grip on the middle back area. While starting this exercise, keep a chair under the bar. One foot must be kept on the chair while other hanging loosely. While raising yourself, straighten the leg on the chair. Gradually, decrease the assistance of the chair and manage to keep both legs hanging.
