Marking machines are used for marking purposes on metal items to imprint logo, bar code, high speed character, production labels, signing of vehicle parts, emboss marking or graphics. These machines are used to carve symbols, data or text on the items for permanent identification.

Marking machines can be used for –

·         Road markings

·         Metal marking on rings

·         Marking on name plates or number plates

·         Marking on uneven surface

·         Cylindrical markings on pipes

·         Markings on hard plastic items and hexagonal parts

·         Code marking and reading

·         Circular markings on flat and narrow items

·         Cylindrical marking without rotation of the item and embossing

·         Automated markings on machinery on different heights

Dot Peen Technology – Dot peen technology functions by electro-mechanically, diamond shaped pointed stylus which is used for scratching letters through its pointed end. As a result a sequence of dots is formed to create logos, texts, codes and digits. A current runs through the stylus, creating a pulse resulting in action, which means that entire data code can be imprinted in seconds. The dot peen technology is very unique due to its constant measurement of the current which flows in the pulse. The characteristics of this technology are – it gives high accuracy, it is speedy and cost effective, it can print on any material and compressed air is not required during its operation.

Dot Peen Marking Machines

Dot peen marking machines are available in various categories, let’s look at some of them:-

·         Superfast dot peen marker – this is the most reliable and fastest dot peen marking machine available in the market today. This is used for short markings up to 16 characters per second. The machine has low weight and can work in any position; it has three pin size options and has a compact marking head. It gives permanent marking and is low on maintenance.

·         Standard dot peen marker – the standard dot peen marker machine is used to engrave on large objects. With the help of successive microdots, the machine can mark a wide range of lettering and symbols on objects of various width and length.

·         Series Deep marker – this is heavy duty dot peen machine is used for deep marking on the objects. This marker is used for harsh markings on the parts to survive the tough environmental conditions like vehicle parts. This machine can mark up to 4 characters per second, it has adjustable character height, and it has long life and has steel armored drive belts.

·         Scribers – scribers has various marking capabilities like it gives a permanent mark, functions with high accuracy and has quiet operation. The scribers leave behind artistic marks on metals and plastics. The scribers do not make any noise during its operation and can be used to engrave characters from size 1mm to 20mm. The machine can write 6 characters every second.

Other dot peen marking systems – flange markers with dot peen technology is used to create marks on pipes and couplings. The features of this machine are it has T2 controller with integrated keypad, it has rotating marking function, steel base, manual and pneumatic options for positioning the head. Hot markers are available in dot peen marking; it can mark metals up to 900 degrees Celsius. Due to the usage in heated equipments the hot marker is protected by several mechanisms.
