These are the antennas that are placed outside the house. An outdoor antenna can be slightly tilted to get better results of receiving signals. These antennas occupy large space. This gets signals directly from the satellite. Some of the outdoor antennas are good at receiving reflected signals. Outdoor antennas can be placed at the rooftop, railing, outdoor wall, or in an attic. These types of antennas are used in the city areas. The outdoor antennas are good at receiving UHF channels. The antennas placed in a direction, which is convenient for reception of transmitted signals is more beneficial. The environmental disturbances like thunderstorm, lightening, noise pollutions and air pollutions affect outdoor antennas. There are many types of outdoor antennas.

Outdoor antennas for household purposes:

Outdoor antennas can be placed in anyplace that is convenient to receive radio or electromagnetic signals from outside. One of the best places for an outdoor antenna is rooftop, if it is not possible then it is advised to place the antenna near the window, which is the easiest way. Since the antenna works on the signals so it is required to place the antenna in such a place where there are no obstacles. There should be free flow of signals from the satellite. They provide good signals that are free from disturbances. For a household purpose an antenna is required for getting a good TV, and radio signals. A booster can be used to get better radio signals. This helps in avoiding environmental disturbances.

Advantages of outdoor antennas for household purposes:

An outdoor antenna gives a good result than an indoor antenna. This is because they are placed in open place, which makes easy for them to receive radio signals directly from the sky, which makes them much more efficient as compared to the indoor antennas. They are easy to install or fix, as a result their average maintenance cost is very low. Antennas are used to get good picture and sound effects. The antennas get the amplified gain this improves the quality of the picture on UHF and VHF signals.
