In the southern hemisphere Australia is a classic destination for skiing among the likes of Argentina, Chile and New Zealand around the globe. This country offers an exciting range of ski areas from parks to mountainous terrain. This place has a terrain for everyone from beginners to experts.

The best time to go skiing and boarding to this place would from mid June to early October. The Aussie terrains for skiing approximately average a snow of 80-120 inches. The resorts here sometimes resort to making snow to keep the riders enjoying the run. Destinations

Perisher holds the credit for having the largest resort of this country. They offer runs for everyone from beginners to the experts. It spans across about 1200 hectares of skiable area and board.

Mount Buller and Thredbo are among the other places which have good snowboards. Mount Buller is just three hours from Melbourne. Both these places offer Snowboard Chile for both beginners and experts and Thredbo has the longest run in this country.

Equipments and Instructors

Most of staffs in the resorts are themselves experiences snowboarders. You will require having snowboards, boots, board binding to tighten your feet to the board, jacket, pant, gloves and helmet to help you enjoy your skiing experience. It is important to ensure your bindings are fastened well to the board for your safety. The resorts provide instructors to help you in case you are a beginner or if you need help with anything. You may also want to have an instructor individually to help you learn. This will be expensive, an alternative is to join a group and learn.
