The clock that brings to you the news of the completion of each hour in the form of a musical tune is known as a musical clock. These clocks used to stand tall, and had their own place in the house in the bygone era and are now often known as the ‘Grandfather’s Clock’.

The musical clocks have tunes playing not only every hour, but also after every half an hour. Nowadays, because of electronic parts replacing gears and spiked cylinders, the settings can be changed. They can also be customized according to your personal preferences.
Usually some decent tune is set for the clock that is to be kept in the living area, since there are visitors, guests and other family members expected to be there. But a whacky tune can also be set for the clocks that are going to be kept in the bedroom. Personalized settings add to the sense of belonging to a teenager’s bedroom. Boys may go for a football song or a rock star’s latest hit. Girls may opt for softer tunes.
Some lines from a song can also be set instead of a tune. Instrumental music pieces are a good idea. Different tunes or songs for every hour can be assigned as well. This takes care of every body’s choice if siblings are sharing a bedroom.
The position or placement of a musical clock is very important. Especially in a bedroom, it should be placed in such a way that the tune should be audible but in a pleasant way. It shouldn’t be so loud that it disturbs a telephonic conversation or even direct chatting. Hence, placing it far from the bed is advisable.
The color, shape and size of a musical clock should also be considered. Complex or uncommon shapes do look attractive, but it should be checked before buying, that odd shape of the clock does not hamper the functioning of it. The warranty period must be taken into account.

A musical clock adds to the interiors of a bedroom since it enhances the audio quality and helps in creating atmosphere.
It is also a nice gift to present to a teenager!
