Made in America – A matter of Pride and Common Sense

The phrase Made in America is seldom seen on the products, featured in the “Big Box” stores, we shop in. This is sad on several levels. If we buy a product made in China, we make a qualitative, financial and social decision against American interests and for China’s that will cost us much more later on.
First of all there is no one, whose birth date isn’t yesterday, who thinks that China produces better products than any made in America. All products made in the U.S.A. are superior to those made in China, and that’s a fact! The inferior material, poor design, unsafe working conditions, and virtual slave labor found in China do not add up to high quality.

Made in America means made by your neighbors. They may not live next door, but they live here and spend their earnings here. Money spent in America, for products made in America improves the economy for everyone here. It allows our fellow Americans to afford the goods and services that keep even more Americans employed. Buying Chinese goods improves the economy there and Americans don’t benefit.

The high number of people on social welfare programs directly correlates to our loss of jobs to China – many millions since 1999. With these jobs back, more Americans could earn an income and leave the welfare system, decreasing the tax burden that each of us carries. American made means American jobs.

There are American companies both large and small that make the high quality, reasonably priced products that you need and have the added benefit that they employ Americans to produce them. Up until recently there have been few, easy to use, methods to locate these products and companies. Since the “Big Box” companies don’t seem to care about things made in America, we decided to do something about it. USofAmade.com was born out of that commitment.

USofAmade.com is a directory of products with brief information about the manufacturer and features their website address. First of all, the products are ALL made in the U.S.A., which allows you to concentrate on their features and price.  Secondly, by using product categories no time is wasted researching companies that just don’t make what you want to buy.

When you find the right category you can do one of two things. Go directly to the listed manufacturer’s website, check them out thoroughly and call or purchase online.  Another option is to print out the page of American made products and take it shopping with you. As you cruise the brick and mortar shops buy only the goods that say Made in the U.S.A. or appear on your print out. Either way you are only going to find and buy products made in America.

Using USofAmade.com to target goods made in the U.S.A. makes good sense, by eliminating low quality Chinese made products from your search and focusing on better quality goods, reasonably priced and American made by companies that hire Americans. That, my friend, is a win, win, win.
