How to travel from Pondicherry to Bangalore

Puducheri, means New Town in Tamil is familiar to us as Pondicherry, which is a French name. It is known as French Riviera of East. Pondicherry still follows a French pattern in their arrangement of city. They have a grid pattern, perpendicular streets and neat structures. The city is divided into two quarter, the French quarter (white town) and Indian quarter (Black quarter).The buildings are a colonial type with long compounds and stately walls. It was the largest French colony in India. It has a dual personality unlike other cities in Tamil Nadu.
Not too far from Pondicherry lies Bangalore, the IT capital of India. Bangalore, also called as Bengaluru boasts as the highest concentration of IT sectors and its exporting. Hence has the name Silicon Valley of India. It is a major promoter of music and dance and possesses cutting edge nightlife, gave it a name called Pub city. It also has splendid gardens, Museums, galleries, natural features, which made it also known as the garden city. Unfortunately, due to its fast growing pace as a metropolis, its greenery is getting diminished day by day. Hence it confronts substantial pollutions and socio-economical problems. Vidhana Soudha, Cubbon Park and the Ulsoor Lake of Bangalore, well known for its beautiful attire and boating facilities is a must visited place.
Bangalore is situated around 309 Km from Pondicherry. Driving on the NH 66, one has to pass through Thirupathur and Thirupannamala before reaching Pondicherry. The average time taken for a road trip is around five hours and twenty five minutes.
When it comes to selecting the best mode of transport, one will be spoilt with choices. Transportation includes road, rails.
Choosing rail as a mode of transport, there are quite a lot train connection to travel from Pondicherry to Bangalore. It takes about 12 hours for the journey. The total fare normally is around Rs.295. to Rs.350. Yashwantpur express departs from Pondicherry at 10.30 pm and stops at Bangalore at 8.00 am approximately. Travelling by train is best option.
Choosing road as a mode of transport is another good option. There are many buses from Pondicherry to Bangalore. Online booking and editing can be done. Its fare is around Rs. 400 to Rs. 600 and above.
If one doesn’t fancy travelling by bus, a private taxi would be another option which can easily cost Rs.6000 and upwards. This maybe a good option, when one is travelling with family, senior citizens and children.
Alternatively, travelling by airway is another option. The nearest airport near Pondicherry is of Chennai. One has to travel to Chennai for air travel. There is an airport in Pondicherry, but no service.
