Feeling good.

Okay, I admit it.  There are a few vices I enjoy.  I do not really drink or smoke but I do like coffee and caffeine fuelled soft drinks.  So I am not sure if a detox holiday in Thailand would be for me, after all, as they say, these vices are not exactly harmful really compared to the likes of smoking and alcohol or drugs.  But then I feel I would be makinga big mistake.  I have been looking at detox holidays in Thailand recently and whilst some of the programs may not suit me I cannot deny that a little me time would not go a long way towards rejuvenating myself.

What makes a detox holiday so special?  You only have to look at the main word ‘detox’ which means, for those who are unaware, to rid yourself of toxic chemical in the body.  As an example of this I will tell you a story.  Many years ago I started living in a foreign country and my first job as a teacher was rather stressful and I had to travel far to get to my place of work which meant I had to get up early to deal with the traffic. This lead to the usual 3am wake up and 9pm getting home which played havoc on my body as well as my social life.  To combat this, you guessed it, I turned to caffeine and energy drinks.  I therefore became dependent on this to get through my normal day.

After a few weeks it became normal for me to wake up and, first things first, drink a Pepsi as a way to wake myself up.  This gave me the energy to get up and get to work and I thought all was fine until after a few weeks when I started getting tired more and more easily.  This was because my caffeine intake was no longer strong enough so I had to increase it.  Suffice to say I started getting hooked on coffee, Pepsi and even caffeine tablets!  It took the work of my (then) girlfriend to wean me off it and despite the intense headaches I had from withdrawal I actually found myself with more energy and feeling less lethargic and more like my normal self.

The moral of this story, besides not drinking too much caffeine fuelled drinks, is that you should always think about detox and taking care of yourself.  A detox holiday in Thailand may not sound good but the benefits of it afterwards may astound you as it is always great to feel you best and you can do that through participating in a detox holiday in Thailand as soon as you can.  You will not only instantly feel and see the benefits but hopefully your experience will teach you that taking care of yourself really does come with its own rewards and is highly recommended so look in to taking out some time for yourself through a detox holiday in Thailand, you will be glad that you did!
