Choosing the right ceiling fan is not just about choosing the right colour or style. There are some major factors that must be considered into the decision in order to get the greatest efficiency and pleasure from the fan. Ceiling fan not only gives the pleasure of cold breeze in the hot summer but also gives warm effect in the winters too. Before buying ceiling fan one must keep few criteria in mind. The purpose of getting the ceiling fan should be clear enough. It can be for fashion or for lowering the electric bill and make the use of air-conditioner less. This irradiates the bill and keeps the expenses in budget.

Ceiling height:
The height of the ceiling fan can be the major factor to consider before buying it. The rooms with low ceiling must have high fitted ceiling fan. Low ceiling means hugger mount or traditional mount without down rod. Standard 8' ceiling means traditional mount that has down rod and 9' or Higher ceiling means that it has extended rod and can be used in big living rooms to make the room more comfortable. These minor things should be checked before buying a suitable ceiling fan for the room.
