Threado ski resort located in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales in Australia is just a 7 hour drive away from Melbourne or Sydney. It has 14 lifts, covers over 480 hectares of skiable area, 50 runs and boasts of the steepest terrain in Australia. It is famous for its near vertical mid section and Funnel Web. Situated at 230 kilometers from Melbourne, Mt Buller offers 850 acres of ride able terrain being serviced by 25 lifts. There are 19 trails with the longest run being of 1.6 miles. Other statistics include a top lift of 1790 meters and a green run covering 25%, the red run covering 45% and the black run covering 30% of the terrain.
