The Remarkables – Perfect for Family Fun

The north facing slopes of the Remarkables resort in New Zealand is home to some excellent terrain, fantastic facilities for learning and fun for all ages. It is located on New Zealand’s South Island, a mere 26 kilometers away from Queenstown. A fast and efficient lift system supports this challenging and exciting snowboarding terrain which consists of short steep chutes, powder runs, cliff drops, moguls, gentle beginner terrain and long linking wide trails. 5 lifts are operational here and the total ride area covers 220 hectares with the longest run covering 1 mile. The first lift is at 1603 meters and the top lift is at 1935 meters. The terrain is divided into 30% for beginners, 40% for intermediate levelers, and 30% for advanced riders. Artificial snow covers around 10% of the area and night riding facilities are available.

Threadbo – One of Australia’s Finest

Threado ski resort located in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales in Australia is just a 7 hour drive away from Melbourne or Sydney. It has 14 lifts, covers over 480 hectares of skiable area, 50 runs and boasts of the steepest terrain in Australia. It is famous for its near vertical mid section and Funnel Web. It has a terrain park for children and runs to cater to different levels of experience. It’s European inspired cosmopolitan village and long runs have made it very popular among snowboarders from all over the world. They also enjoy the bustling night life here especially the bars and clubs.

Mount Buller – A Huge Playground for Snowboarding

Situated at 230 kilometers from Melbourne, Mt Buller offers 850 acres of ride able terrain being serviced by 25 lifts. There are 19 trails with the longest run being of 1.6 miles. Other statistics include a top lift of 1790 meters and a green run covering 25%, the red run covering 45% and the black run covering 30% of the terrain.
